Kirkby Stephen: Part 1 of 4

The Cumbrian town of Kirkby Stephen is located 12 miles from Appleby and 23 from Kendal. The above photo shows the wide market square. It had been quite some time since we were last in Kirkby Stephen, so there was plenty to have look at and photograph!
First stop was The Pink Geranium Cafe!
Through the windows of the Cafe.
Black Bull Hotel.
Archway Fish & Chips.
Formerly a Church, now home to the Hearts of Oak Antique Gallery, plus others.
The Co-op occupy this fine looking building.
One of several antique shops in the town.
Planting boots!
Preserved signpost. Look closely and see the next photograph.
The distances are still shown in furlongs.
Wesleyan Centenary Chapel.

Note around the top of the door - Wesleyan Sunday School,
One assumes someone who likes cats lives here.
