| Kirkby Stephen Parish Church is often called 'The Cathedral of the Dales.' It is approached via the Cloisters, as above which were built in 1810. |

| The first Church was built during Anglo Saxon times. It was replaced in 1710 by a Norman Church. The present building dates from 1240, with many alterations having taken place since. It is a Grade II listed building. |
