Orton: Part 1 of 3

First stop before a walk around the village of Orton was the 'famous' Kennedy's Chocolate Shop and Tearooms.

So many hand made chocolates to choose from!
A party of bikers in vintage machines had arrived at Kennedy's by the time we came out.

Orton village store and post office. The village of Orton is 8 miles from Appleby in Westmorland and one and half miles from the M6 motorway. originally part of the county of Westmorland, it is now in the Eden District of Cumbria.

George Hotel.
I wonder how old this building is?
Old road sign to Shap, alongside a red telephone box.
Coronation Bus Shelter, 1953. Only a sparse service of buses now serve the village.
